Taraxacum

2.5 Min, recycled paper, art pen, animation

A wind-borne dandelion wisp traverses uninviting land and seascapes as anthropomorphic elements weep, watch, and grasp at the buoyant seed.

Inspired by a personal affinity with dandelion (a useful medicinal), concepts of plant neurobiology, folk art, and the work of German animator Lotte Reiniger, "Taraxacum" was created with hand-drawn illustrations and cut-paper silhouettes animated in After Effects.
